Lynn Marie Saso, LMFT, ATR
Lynn Marie has been working in the field of behavioral healthcare since 2006. She began her career as a mental health professional within a hospital setting at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, working with children and adolescents in recovery, terminal illnesses, and their family systems.
After completing graduate school, Lynn Marie transitioned into working within acute county mental health facilities, supporting individuals with severe mental illness, thought disorders, trauma histories, personality disorders, and co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. These early experiences deepened her commitment to addressing the complex intersection of trauma, addiction, and mental health, and solidified her passion for providing compassionate, patient-centered care in the behavioral health field.
Lynn Marie is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist trained and certified in expressive art therapy and behavioral and narrative approaches. She supports the whole person and their chosen family through life’s traumas and challenges. With a specialization in trauma-informed care within the creative arts, she integrates cognitive-behavioral strategies to help clients process and heal from trauma. Lynn Marie has extensive experience working in Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP), and residential dual diagnosis programs throughout the westside of Los Angeles, where she has supported clients in early recovery, relapse prevention, and long-term sobriety maintenance.
Her clinical work within the addiction treatment space includes developing and implementing programming for substance use disorder recovery, relapse prevention, harm reduction, and the integration of 12-step, SMART Recovery, and holistic models. Lynn Marie is especially skilled in working with individuals navigating early recovery, emotional dysregulation, trauma-driven substance use, and co-occurring conditions such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD.
Over the years, Lynn Marie has served as a primary therapist, case manager, Clinical Director, and Program Director of Clinical Services. She has been instrumental in developing and refining clinical programming and curriculum for dual-diagnosis and addiction-focused treatment centers, always grounded in evidence-based practices. She believes in a collaborative, family-systems approach that includes the full network of support—therapists, sponsors, loved ones, housing staff, and more—to foster sustainable recovery.
Her background in Art Therapy has guided the development of countless closed and open process groups that combine creativity, psychoeducation, and emotional expression. She has also mentored and trained interns who have gone on to become psychologists, case managers, and primary therapists with strong foundations in trauma-informed and addiction-focused care.
In addition to her leadership and program development work, Lynn Marie remains deeply committed to providing direct client care through individual, group, couples, and family therapy.
Her work is grounded in a deep understanding of the complex interplay between addiction, mental health, and trauma.
In partnership with long-time friend and fellow mental health professional Sheila Khaleghian, Lynn Marie co-founded The Lifestyle Collective—a wellness-driven, concierge-style mental health practice built on the values of prevention, authenticity, access, and care. Their shared vision to provide innovative, stigma-reducing, and community-centered mental health services reflects their two-decade friendship and commitment to healing at both the personal and collective levels.
Lynn Marie earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Chapman University and her Master of Psychology (MFT) with a secondary focus in Art Therapy from Phillips University. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and a Registered Art Therapist (ATR).
